1. HAMPTA PASS TREK
The Hampta Pass trek starts from a village in
Kullu Valley and ends at Chatru in Lahaul and Spiti Valley. The popular trek is
around 35 kms for a duration of 4 to 5 days. The highest altitude along the
trail is at 4400 m. This is definitely an ideal one to choose for the beginners.
The best time to visit is between June and mid – November. The sceneries as you

2. BEAS KUND TREK
Himachal Pradesh’s Beas Kund offers a wonderful trek experience with some
unforgettable memories. This is graded as a moderately difficult trek. Mid May
to mid October is definitely the best time to go on this trek. The trek is a
popular long weekend trail in Manali. You will get to walk along the banks of
River Beas. You will get to enjoy wonderful views of Pir Panjal ranges and
Dhundi meadows. As you go along the trail, you climb upwards to arrive at the
originating point of the glacial lake. You don’t have to have any experience of
trekking to complete this trail.
3. CHANDRAKHANI PASS TREK
This is at a maximum altitude of 3650 m and
has a distance of 22 kms. The trek is generally a duration of around 10 days.
The trail lies at higher elevations and the surrounding views are stunning. Mid
June to early October will be the best time to go on the trek. The trail starts
from a picturesque village in the Kullu Valley. As you go along the trail, you
will witness spectacular views of Pir Panjal, Deo Tibba and Parbati peaks. You
will walk past meandering paths dotted with oak and fir trees. Enjoy the
isolation from the chaos in the cities.
4. MARKHA VALLEY TREK
The Markha Valley trek is one of the largest
valleys in the Ladakh region. This is one of the most sought after hiking
trails in India. The strenuous trail starts at Leh taking you through the
Chilling, Skiu, Sara, Hankar. The maximum altitude of the trek is 5200 m and
covers a distance of 65 kms. The best time to go on the trail is from July to
mid September. You also get to see the stunning sights of Stok Kangri and Kang
Yatse peaks. You can also get a glimpse of the distant Tibetan region on a
clear day.
5. RUPIN PASS TREK
This is one of the best choices for trekking
in India. The Garhwal region has the challenging Rupin Pass trek which is
approximately 52 kms. It takes around 7 days to complete the trek which is at
an altitude of 15250 feet. The best time to choose to go on this trek is from
May to June and September to October. This is often loved by expert trekkers
due to the challenges of the trail. It involves different kinds of terrains
that may be rugged, meadows or snow. You also will love to savor the stunning
views of Kinner Kailash peaks.
6.CHOKRAMUDI TREK
This is one of the easy trails that even
beginners can go on. The trek only lasts for about 5 to 7 hours making it an
ideal choice for the beginners and also those who have a shortage of time. Thia
trek gives you an opportunity to experience the best of scenery in this hill
town. You get the matchless views of the highest peak of the Western Ghats,
Anamudi. Another added attraction to the trail is the Ikkudi Dam, which is one
of the highest arch dams in Asia. Anytime around the year will be the best time
to go on this trek.
7. SANDAKPHU TREK
You can savor the spectacular view of wonderful peaks like Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga
from an altitude of around 11,500 feet. The trek is around 45 kms which can be
covered in a span of 8 to 9 days. You get to witness a wide range of flora that
includes ferns, orchids and magnolias. Another highlight of the trek is the
Black Pond considered holy by the Buddhists. You also will walk past the very
popular Valley of Poison called Bikhey Bhanjyang. The best time to go on this
trail will be from April to May and October to January.
